how much does lasik surgery cost? also what are the downsides?
- I do not know the current cost of Lasik, but I do know that you should not go to the cheapest, but rather the best. Do your research for the best in your area. I had Lasik surgery 15 years ago. My eyes went from 20 / 800 legally blind to 20 / 20. I am now 48, so I have to wear reading gl es, but that's my big complaint. I was the guinea pig as right after I had the surgery, my husband did, followed by my BIL, my SIL, my MIL and another SIL. No one has any complains. The only downside is that I see "Starburst" during night driving, so I have prescription driving gl es to cut out the glare from oncoming cars, but I did not get them till a few years ago. Overall, I have absolutely no regrets as I would not trade my vision now for those horrid contacts or gl es that I absolutely hated
- the cost is more than 1000 and there is risks of getting very dry eyes or seeing lights around your eyes if it doesnt come out right
- You can easily check your minimal health care rates in internet, for example here - healthquotes. awardspace.info
- Some of the other downsides are overcorrection or undercorrection, results that do not last, a permanently weakened cornea that can rupture, and constant pain. I am 50 years old and am not considering getting it done since I will only be swapping one problem for another. I have not needed reading gl es and do not want to start now
